So, first photo is a little bit about how vacation in beach front resort in Zanzibar looks like. It is quite hard topic for me - because I know people are different. I don’t want to discourage anybody from visiting Zanzibar or our hotels. I just want to make you realize something: in Zanzibar there are lots of animals. Little lizards in the rooms - normal. Chicken on your way to the village shop - normal. Cat under your sunbed? Normal. That is the thing- if you have a hotel that is directly at the beach, it doesn’t have a big wall around it so you can see the Ocean - cat will easily find his way to the hotel. I know many of you have allergies ( so do I) so we make sure to control the cats that are on our site 🐈 One thing I can tell you - because everything here is on the open air, from my expirience - you can’t feel the allergy. But if you are bothered by the cat, just tell the waiter - we usually just spray some water on a stubborn cat and he backs off. But yes, in Zanzibar there are many cats, so have that in mind. Still, we do control it and actually what we’ve been doing for some time now is this: when new kitties are born, we take them away from hotel restaurant and rooms area. We feed them, play with them, take care of them. After they grow up, they become great pets, very friendly - and they are being adopted : )

Low tides on the East coast are easy to see. The view here is never boring - it is always changing. But… if you want to swim in the Ocean, you have to wait until the high tide. So what to do during the time, when the water is not there? 🫣

1. Take a walk - now the beach is extended and you can walk everywhere. See what normally is hidden under the water. It is beautiful!
2. Take a break- of course, you want it all during your vacations. But…how about taking things slow? The Ocean will be here soon. It always comes back. Now you have the time to appreciate the nature and it rules. Grab your favoutire book, or your favourite drink and try to focus on it. Pause.
3. See the village - when the Ocean is here, it is hard to compete with that. But how about a walk not on the beach, but in the village? See the local shops, meet local people, take photos that you don’t see that often in the internet. Discover Zanzibar.
